Billing & Fees

Practice Billing Policy Changes

Effective from: 5 December 2022

From 5th December 2022, the practice billing policy is changing. Routinely all patients will have a private fee for a GP consultation.

Concession card holders will be required to pay a reduced out of pocket fee.

As a local community minded general practice, making this decision was extremely difficult. We have always believed that cost should not be a barrier for access to medical services. Unfortunately, with the continuous increases in costs of operating a business and the minor increases to Medicare rebates, bulk billing is no longer sustainable.

Exceptions:

  • Children under 16 years old – bulk billed
  • DVA Card holders – bulk billed
  • Individuals 16 – 18 years old billed at concession rate
  • Appointments for Health Assessments (within Medicare criteria) are bulk billed
  • Eligible Chronic Disease Management Plan appointments are bulk billed – up to four times per year (every 3 months).

N.B. All Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Medicare rebates are processed same day.
