CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST

Dr Hugh Morgan trained in psychiatry at Prince of Wales / Prince Henry Hospital and graduated from specialist training through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 1997. He has been working as a general adult & adolescent psychiatrist since that time.

Hugh has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and chronic fatigue syndrome. He has worked extensively as a Staff Specialist and Visiting Medical Officer in both public and community psychiatry in the Southern suburbs of Sydney. He has undertaken and published clinical research into social anxiety disorder at the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety Disorders at St Vincents Hospital.

Over the years Hugh has been very involved in mental health training for general practitioners, having co-authored numerous journal articles on this topic. He has also worked for many years training psychiatric registrars in the use of evidence-based psychological therapy such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Hugh has extensive experience in the area of pharmacological management of mood disorders, anxiety, adult ADHD and a range of other mental disorders.
